Inspiration for Reflection

Project reflect

Goal of activity:

The aim is to allow the learner to actively work with their learning; to remember, collect and arrange their experiences in their construct of the world – and to share it with knowledgeable others, who witnessed these experiences.

Context

and

settings:

During a training course or even during a longer educational process it is valuable for the learners if a special time at the end of the day is allotted to small learning groups or learning duo´s or trio´s.

Before the learners go to their free time in the programme, they sit together for circa 30 minutes and reflect on their day; to collect impressions, learning points, etc.

The right settings for this reflection are more related to calmness and allowing the group-members to slow-down, than whether this place of choice is inside or outside

Story from practice:

1.      Find a place to stay during the reflections that supports the aims of the work involved.

2.      Take some “individual time” to reflect on your day and to write in the diary.

3.      Sit together and share your experiences of the day, time period, etc.

4.      Especially in relation to the experiences, learning points, and other points of interest of the day, to each person or the interest of the group-members.

5.      Another period of diary-work is sometimes beneficial after reflecting with the small group.

Timeframe: 20-60 minutes after program of the day
